Algerian parliamentarian Baba Ali, of Democratic National Tagammou Party loyal to the ruling authority, called the Algerian people living in the southern areas, near the border area, to inform the authorities of any suspicious operations executed by the smugglers or extremist groups to serve the intetests of the country.
The Algerian parliamentarian appreciated the role performed by the Algerian army to protect the borders from the attempts of extremists to storm the country, stressing that they face increasing challenges posed by the extremists and smugglers in addition to illegal immigrants. He signaled to the military success to prevent large amounts of weapons from entering the country.
Despite the deterioration of security in the neighbouring areas, including Libya and Sahel region, the parliamentarian said, the Algerian army managed to protect the border area. He underlined the challenge of increasing refugees coming from Mali. He prposed the formation of a new military unit of camel riders to confront the extremists and smugglers.
He added that the smugglers work to smuggle the gold, oil and food outside the country, saying that the Algerian gold is smuggled outside the country especially to the Gulf States. He criticized the current parliament, describing it as weak. He blamed the increasing absences in the parliament for its weakness.
